It's simple: browse our Rentals and Experiences and pick your favorites, reserve your date online with a deposit, we deliver and set everything up before your guests arrive, and we come back afterward to break it all down. You just show up and enjoy the party.
Experiences are curated packages built around a theme, like a backyard cinema night or a graduation party, bundling everything you need at a discounted, bundled rate. Rentals let you build your own order item by item at standard pricing. You can mix and match either way.
We're based in Olathe, KS and deliver throughout Johnson County and the greater Kansas City metro, including Overland Park, Lenexa, Shawnee, Leawood, and Kansas City, MO. Contact us to confirm your address if you're not sure.
Possibly. If your address isn't in our standard Johnson County or Kansas City metro service area, contact us with your location and event date and we'll let you know if we can accommodate it and what the delivery & setup fee would be.
Browse our Rentals or Experiences pages, add what you need to your cart, and check out online with your event date and address. You'll get a confirmation email right away, and our team will follow up with delivery details.
We recommend booking 2-4 weeks ahead, especially for weekends in the spring and fall. Popular items like bounce houses and backyard cinema setups go first. That said, we can often accommodate last-minute requests, so reach out even if your date is close. Note that bookings made within 7 days of your event require payment in full at booking.
As soon as your deposit is paid at checkout, your date and rentals are reserved for you.
Yes, just contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate additions or changes to your order before your event.
Yes. At checkout, you'll review and electronically sign our Rental Agreement & Liability Waiver — checking a few acknowledgment boxes and typing your name, which is recorded as your signature. It covers our payment, weather, and safety policies, plus what you're responsible for if equipment is damaged and an assumption-of-risk and liability release for using the equipment.
You can read the full Rental Agreement & Liability Waiver anytime.
Yes — delivery, setup, and pickup are all included in one delivery & setup fee based on your location and the size of your order, typically $30–$105 in Johnson County (Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, and nearby) or $60–$210 across the wider Kansas City metro, including Kansas City, MO — larger orders (tents, multiple big items) land at the higher end. Your exact fee is calculated automatically at checkout based on your address and cart.
Standard rentals are priced per event. Need it longer? Check "Need it for more than one day?" at checkout for automatic multi-day pricing, whether that's a weekend, a few days, or a full week.
Yes. The renter, or someone approved by the renter who is 18 or older, needs to be there to confirm delivery and setup.
A clear, accessible path to your setup area, with the surface mowed or cleared if it's outdoors. Please also let us know about any hazards near the setup area we should be aware of, like underground utilities, irrigation or septic lines, invisible fencing, or low-hanging branches. We'll handle the rest.
Yes. Items like bounce houses and concession machines need access to a standard outdoor outlet within 100 feet of the setup area. If you don't have one within that range, you'll need to rent a generator from us for an additional fee. Let us know ahead of time so we can add it to your order.
Delivery and pickup times are scheduled around your event and can flex based on our other bookings, sometimes happening the day before or after your event. If your event is at a public space like a park or venue with its own delivery and pickup windows, let us know those windows when you book so we can coordinate around them.
Because so many of our events happen outdoors, we offer a flexible weather rescheduling policy. If severe weather, or another extraordinary circumstance beyond anyone's control (like a natural disaster, government order, or widespread power outage), is reasonably expected to make it unsafe to use your rented equipment, you can request one rescheduled event date.
Rescheduled events must happen within 90 days of your original date, are subject to inventory availability, and need to be mutually agreed on. If your original equipment isn't available on the new date, we'll offer a comparable substitute or store credit.
Your deposit transfers to the rescheduled reservation. Since this is a reschedule rather than a cancellation, we don't issue cash refunds solely due to weather or similar circumstances.
For safety, we won't set up or run an inflatable in wind of 15 mph or higher, or the manufacturer's stated wind limit if that's lower. If wind reaches that limit after your inflatable is already set up and running, you're responsible for turning off the blower right away so it deflates until conditions improve.
Inflatables also can't be used during lightning or thunderstorms. A wet/dry combo unit is fine to use in light rain as long as conditions stay safe, but it still needs to come down for thunderstorms or lightning.
Grass, concrete/asphalt, pavers or patio, gravel, or indoors. You'll select your setup surface at checkout so we bring the right anchoring: stakes for grass, or sandbags and weights for hard surfaces.
Yes. Several of our rentals, including soft play, work great indoors too. Just select "Indoor" as your setup surface at checkout.
Yes. If your rental includes electronics, like a projector, screen, speaker, or a concession machine, you're responsible for keeping it protected from rain, water, and excessive moisture for the whole time you have it. If something gets wet, stops working, or seems damaged, stop using it and let us know right away.
We collect 50% of your rental total when you book, which also securely saves your card on file.
The remaining balance, including tax and delivery & setup, is automatically charged to the card on file 7 days before your event, at 9:00 AM Central, and we'll send a reminder beforehand. If that charge is declined, we'll try once more a few hours later before reaching out to arrange another payment method — the balance needs to be paid in full before we can deliver and set up your equipment.
If you're booking within 7 days of your event, we collect payment in full at booking instead — there's no remaining balance to charge later.
Your card stays securely on file for up to 14 days after your event in case any damage is found — it's only ever charged if that happens, and we'll always contact you with the details first. If everything comes back in good shape, your card is removed from our system and you're never charged anything extra.
Your deposit is 50% of your rental total, due when you book, and it's non-refundable. If you're booking within 7 days of your event, payment in full is due at booking instead.
We accept credit and debit cards through our secure online checkout. Need another arrangement for a corporate or larger event? Contact us directly.
Yes — a responsible adult who is 18 or older must supervise bounce houses, soft play, and other active equipment at all times. Everyone using the equipment also needs to follow the manufacturer's and our posted age, height, weight, and capacity limits. Each applicable rental comes with an instruction and rule card so everyone knows how to use it safely.
Yes. Soft play needs natural shade or our 20' x 20' tent. The surface can get dangerously hot for little hands and knees in direct sun. We'll check in about this when soft play is part of your order.
Our soft play sets are designed for toddlers and young children, perfect for first birthdays and little ones' parties.
For everyone's safety and to keep the equipment clean for the next rental, pets aren't allowed to use or enter inflatables or soft play. They're welcome elsewhere at your event — just keep them away from the rental equipment itself.
You are responsible for the rental equipment while it is in your care. From the time your rental is delivered until it is picked up, please treat all items with care and use them only for their intended purpose. You may be responsible for the cost of repair, replacement, or excessive cleaning for equipment that is damaged, lost, stolen, or excessively soiled due to misuse, negligence, unauthorized movement, or failure to follow the provided instructions.
Normal wear and tear is not considered damage.
After pickup, we inspect everything and have up to 14 days to flag any issues. If a charge turns out to be necessary, we'll always contact you with the details and amount before charging your card. If nothing comes up, your card is removed from our system once that inspection period is over.
Our goal is to make this easy: we'll provide any instructions you need and make sure you know how to properly use and care for your rentals. Just treat our equipment like you would your own, and we'll take care of the rest.
For most equipment, no — we handle all the cleaning and sanitizing between rentals. The one exception is anything that touched food, including concessions machines (popcorn, sno cone, cotton candy, etc.) and chafing dishes: any food or liquid residue needs to be cleaned off before pickup.
Yes. Ali, our owner, holds the Advanced Inflatable Safety Operations Certification from the Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization (SIOTO). The training covers site inspection, anchoring, weather limits, supervision, and equipment checks, and we follow those same practices at every inflatable setup.
Yes, we are fully insured, so you can book with confidence.
Yes, each applicable rental comes with an instruction and rule card covering safe use, so everyone at your event knows how to use it properly.
Using rental equipment like inflatables and soft play carries some inherent risk of injury or property damage, even when it's used properly and supervised responsibly. By signing our Rental Agreement & Liability Waiver at checkout, you acknowledge those risks and agree to release Backyard Bash Co. from claims arising from them or from ordinary negligence, and to be responsible for the conduct of your guests, to the extent allowed by law. We still carry full insurance and take safety seriously — a waiver like this is standard practice for equipment rentals.

Your 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel 7 days or less before your event, no refund will be given. If you cancel more than 7 days before your event, you can choose either a refund of any amount paid above the 50% deposit, or to apply your total payment toward a different event within 90 days. Reach out as soon as you know your plans have changed and we'll work with you.
Yes. Reservations can be rescheduled once, subject to availability, as long as the new event date is within 90 days of your original date. Reach out as soon as your plans change and we'll work with you.
No, deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel more than 7 days before your event, any amount you paid above the deposit can be refunded, or applied toward a different event within 90 days. You can also reschedule your event once, subject to availability, to a new date within 90 days of the original — canceling 7 days or less before your event isn't eligible for a refund.
In rare cases, yes — for example if a required payment hasn't gone through, the delivery location turns out to be unsafe or inaccessible, weather or site conditions would make setup or use unsafe, the equipment would likely be damaged, or someone at the event is threatening or abusive toward our delivery team. We'll always try to work things out with you first; cancelling on our end is a last resort.
We'll arrive during your scheduled delivery window to set everything up before your guests arrive, then return after your event to break it all down and pick everything up. You don't have to do a thing.
Stop using the equipment if it seems unsafe, and contact us right away. We're just a call or text away during your event and will work quickly to fix or replace anything that isn't working as it should.
Changes are limited once delivery is underway, but reach out as soon as possible and we'll do what we can to help.
